Over three billion people use the Internet worldwide, African countries are making a fast progress in the use of Internet and telecom services, while 450 million people live in areas with no mobile networks, according to the latest report of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), cited by local Hotnews.ro.

The best ranked countries are Denmark, South Korea, Sweden, Island and UK. Eight of the top ten countries are European, while China, the country with most Internet users, is only on 86th. Romanians ranks 58th, although the connection speed in the country is among the best, because it lost points at the penetration rate. The US ranks 14th.
