Deutsche Bank will inaugurate a global technology center in Bucharest by end-June this year, where it will create software applications for the bank.

DB Global Technology, which will have 100 employees by mid-2014, and 500 by 2016, will be led by Marian Popa, according to a statement of the bank, quoted by local Mediafax.

“Marian Popa will supervise the organization and development of the fourth global technology center of DB, where it will be created up to 500 jobs in the IT&C by end of 2016. Recruitment started in late 2013 and the number of employees is estimated to 100 specialists by the middle of the year,” reads the statement.

Between 2004 and 2012, Popa led Endava CEE, a greenfield project in which the number of employees increased from 40 to 800, working in four headquarters in Central and Eastern Europe.

Deutsche Bank is present on the Romanian market since 1998 and provides corporate and private banking services.
