Developer Plaza Centers is trying to get the building permit for its future commercial center in Timisoara, western Romania.

Last spring, the company announced that it wanted to build a shopping center on a 32,000-sqm plot in Timisoara.

The company wants to be sure that it will have tenants for the new project, and it is currently discussing with retailers and anchors, said Hanan Shraiter, marketing & business development manager within Plaza Centers, cited by local Economica.net.

The South-African investment fund NEPI recently announced that it will also build a commercial center in Timisoara, stretching over 70,000 sqm. However, this will be located outside the city, whereas the project developed by Plaza Centers is inside Timisoara, said Shraiter.
