Mercadia Holland BV group, which owns the Macro and Mic.ro chains of stores will open four Macro stores by the end of July in Romania. The average investment for these stores will be of EUR 2 million, according to the company.

The first store will be opened in Constanta, on July 22. Then stores will be opened in Craiova and Bran. Sales areas vary between 386 sqm for the Criova store and 932 sqm for the Bran store. The first Macro store was opened in Brasov in May this year, which marked the launch of the concept.

The Macro network is the re-branded MiniMax network, which Romanian investor Dinu Patriciu bought in August 2010. Patriciu, through Mercadia Holland plans to reach a network of 150 Macro stores. Mercadia runs the Mic.Ro convenience stores, the Macro discount network, Bet Arena Cafe betting houses and the Bio Good ecological products chain.
