German group dm opens three new stores in Romania this month
German personal care retailer dm drogerie markt will open three new stores in Romania this month. These will be located in Ramnicu Valcea, Cluj and Arad.
Following the inaugurations, the dm network will reach 94 units in Romania.
The German group entered the local market in 2007, long after having entered the more developed neighboring markets like the Czech Republic or Hungary. The company opened the first stores there shortly after the fall of communism in 1993.
In Romania, the retailer has expanded constantly by 7-10 new units per year. The company has also closed down some units, but hasn’t provided data on them.
The retailer owns over 20 units in Bucharest and 6 in Timisoara. Its turnover reached EUR 57 million in 2016.
