Dog owners in Romania may identify and register pets by January 2015
Dog owners in Romania, both individuals and legal entities, have the possibility to identify and register their animals in the Evidence Registry for Dogs with Owners (RECS) by January 1, 2015, Viorel Andronie, president of the Veterinarians College (CMV) told local Agerpres.
The rules on identification and registry of dogs with owners will soon be published in the Official Gazette and shall come into force within 60 days after publication.
The Veterinarians College recommends only dogs leaving Romania to be identified through microchipping until the rules are published.
“If, however, the owners chose to identify the dogs before the rules’ entry into force, the proceedings will be the same, while the data and information will be recorded in the RECS by the veterinarians, after the rules entry into force,” said Andronie.
