Drawing by Romanian 7-year old inspires IKEA toy

02 February 2015

Albert, a 7-year old Romanian boy, was one of the ten winners of a global drawing contest organised by Swedish furniture retailer IKEA. His drawing will be turned into a limited edition plush toy which will sell in all of IKEA’s global store network.

Romanian Albert drew a bat with its wings upside down.

Among the other nine drawings selected as winners in this contests are a caterpillar-tiger, a skunk named Stinky, dinosaurs, as well as a one-eyed blue stain.

The ten winning drawings will all be turned into stuffed toys, which will be sold in IKEA stores worldwide starting November 15. For each such toy sold, IKEA said it will donate EUR 1 for child education to UNICEF and Save the Children organisations.
