Early Music Festival promises Renaissance music goodies for Romanian fans
The seventh edition of the Bucharest Early Music Festival 2012 will be held October 24- 28 at various venues in the Romanian capital. This year the audience is invited on a musical journey through European Baroque music, meeting some of the key figures on the way: Hopkinson Smith (Switzerland / USA), Menno van Delft (Netherlands) and ensemble Il Gardellino (Belgium), Ketil Haugsand (Norway).
In addition to the four concerts, there will be a series of master classes and educational events, culminating in "Il maestro e lo scolarel" - a special joint concert to close the festival. Festival venues include: Romanian Radio's Mihail Jora Studio, the Cotroceni National Museum and the Anglican Church.
The festival program is:
- Thursday, 25 October 2012, 19.00 - Rainbow Renaissance (Renaissance lute recital), Hopkinson Smith (Switzerland / USA) - Grand Salon of the National Museum Receptions Cotroceni;
- Friday, 26 October 2012, 19.00 - The Music Lesson (concert-lessons for children), Dorel Iuga Lozin (flauto Traverso), Sándor Gati (baroque oboe), Melinda Béres (baroque violin), István Csata (viola da gamba ), Raluca Enea (harpsichord) - Anglican Church of Bucharest - free entry;
- Saturday, 27 October 2012, 19.00 - Keyboard Families (harpsichord recital and clavicord), Menno van Delft (Netherlands) - Grand Salon of Receptions of the National Museum Cotroceni;
- Sunday, 28 October 2012, 19.00 - Il Maestro e Lo Scolare (orchestral concert), Il Gardellino (Belgium) and their guests from Romanian Radio.
The tickets are on sale through the Eventim network, at Germanos, Orange, Vodafone, Domo, Radio Hall,Carturturesti and Humanitas shops and online at www.eventim.ro. ID is needed for concerts held at the National Museum Cotroceni.
