Early Music School to kick off in Romania in 2013 after fund raising art auction
Medieval Praxis, the company which organizes the Early Music Festival in Bucharest, will organize an art auction in order to raise money for the first Early Music School in Romania. The auction, which will take place on November 28 at the Romanian Peasant Museum, will include 36 works of art by contemporary Romanian artists.
The initiative aims at encouraging a new generation of artists specializing in early music and at educating the audiences. The new school aims to cover a gap in education, as early music is nowhere to be found in Romania's education system, despite the increasing interest from the public.
The fund raised during the auction will be used to buy instruments, vocal scores and books for students, as well as cover scholarships. The auction catalog can be found here. The Early Music school will be launched at the beginning of 2013.
