The European Commission has launched Watify, a platform meant to encourage the creation of up to 1.5 million jobs in digital entrepreneurship in Europe.

The platform aims to help entrepreneurs to overcome the barriers that prevent them from starting their own business and also help established companies in all industry sectors by showing them there are a lot of opportunities to transform their business using digital technologies.

The Watify initiative will run throughout Europe for two years.

According to a press release of the European Commission, only 6 percent of the adult population of Europe are engaged in a new business, compared with 13 percent in the US.
