Electoral Bureau: 15 political parties, 8 independents in the race for European Parliament seats

Eight independent candidates and 15 political parties have been green lighted by Romania's Central Electoral Bureau in the race for European Parliament seats.

The parties which signed up in the race are: the electoral alliance the Social Democratic Party PSD - National Union for Romania’s Progress UNPR – the Conservative Party PC, the National Liberal Party, the Democratic Magyar Union in Romania UDRM, the Democrat Liberal Party, the People's Party Dan Diaconescu, the Popular Movement Party, the National Agrarian Christian Democratic Party, the Civic Force, the Socialist Alternative Party, the National Alliance of Farmers, the Great Romania Party, the Green Party, the New Republic Party, the Social Equity Party, and the Romanian Ecologist Party.

The individuals whose candidacies were accepted are Mircea Diaconu, Corina Ungureanu, Danut Liga, Pericle Iulian Capsali, Paul Purea, Peter Costea, Constantin Filip Titian, Valentin Daeanu.

The final list of candidacies will soon be announced by the Central Electoral Bureau. The electoral campaign will start on April 25, 30 days before the vote on May 25.
