Electronics and gadgets must have menu, settings in Romanian
All electronics, appliances and gadgets sold on the local market must have menu and settings in Romanian, regardless of their country of origin, according to a draft bill prepared by the Parliament.
This will also apply to cars and machinery that have board computers, GPS devices and other electronic interfaces, local Profit.ro reported.
This will protect consumers from situations that may occur due to the misuse of these products because of lack of understanding or partial understanding of the settings of the settings in other languages, according to the bill’s initiators.
The warranty certificate, conformity statement, technical book and use instructions will also have to be in Romanian, according to the bill.
This initiative will also lead to more jobs for Romanians as electronics and gadgets producers will have to hire translators.
