Romania's biggest online retailer gets over half of the orders from mobile
Over half (51%) of the orders placed on eMAG.ro, the biggest online shopping platform in Romania, came from mobile devices and only 49% came from desktop computers, in 2017.
Mobile orders had an even higher share among first-time clients, namely 60%, according to eMAG’s data.
Half of the clients that made purchases from mobile devices used the dedicated app.
Mobile became the main channel for online shoppers last year. About two-thirds (64%) of the visits on eMAG’s platform in 2017 came from mobile devices, namely smartphones and tablets. This year, the company’s representatives expect over 75% of the visits to come from mobile devices.
Most clients who used mobile devices for shopping or getting informed about eMAG’s offers are under 40. The best-selling products via mobile orders were products for children, small household appliances, accessories for mobile phones, personal care devices and toys.
