EMC Romania, the local subsidiary of the American company EMC, provider of data recovery, cloud computing and storage hardware, expects an increase in turnover between 25 and 30 percent in Romania.

“We base our growth on the change in the way companies do back-up”, said Valentin Stanescu, country manager EMC România, quoted by Ziarul Financiar. He added that this year he expects a business growth on the content management and storage area segments, after the segments saw an increase of almost 90 percent last year, compared to 2009.

Last year was the best financial year for both the American company and the Romanian branch that registered an increase of 60 percent compared to 2009. According to Valentin Stanescu, 80 percent of the previous year’s growth came from the clients in the private sector.

The American EMC company had revenues of USD 17 billion in 2010, with a number of employees exceeding 50,000 and a presence in over 20 countries.
