Emerson opens production platform in Romania's Cluj with EUR 55 mln
American group Emerson inaugurated today (July 8) a new platform for production and engineering services in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, following an investment of EUR 55 million. Over 700 people will work at the new platform, according to a Mediafax correspondent, cited by Ziarul Financiar.
According to Balasz Hopka, the manager of Emerson SRL, the company extended the platform for production and engineering services located in the Tetarom II Industrial Park in Cluj-Napoca.
The investment includes a building that will host the Regional Center of Projects in Engineering and the European Center of Integration Systems, which will provide engineering services and support for European systems of control and automation projects, but also assembly and testing services for command systems for projects throughout Europe.
Emerson opened the first production facility in Cluj-Napoca in 2007, and since then it has invested over EUR 75 million in developing production capacities.
Worldwide, Emerson had revenues of some USD 24.7 billion in 2013, and has 132,000 employees across the globe. Customers in Eastern Europe accounted for USD 4.8 billion in sales, or 20 percent of the results in the fiscal year 2013.
