Italian group Enel plans to finalize the sale of its assets in Romania and Slovakia by the end of this year, said the group’s GM Francesco Starace during a press conference in Rimini, quoted by Agerpres, which cites Reuters.

In Romania, Enel announced in June it wants to sell 64.4% in Enel Distributie Muntenia and Enel Energie Muntenia, 51% of Enel Distributie Banat, Enel Distributie Dobrogea and Enel Energie, as well as the services company Enel Romania.

In Romania, Enel has 2.6 million clients, out of which 2.4 million are individual consumers. Its companies posted EUR 1.12 billion in turnover in 2013, and a pre-tax profit of EUR 289 million.
