Energy exports, up by over a quarter in Romania
Energy exports increased in Romania in the first quarter of 2015 by 26%, while energy imports dropped by 17%, according to Transelectrica.
The export of energy amounted to 2.1 TWh, compared to 1.7 TWh in the first three months of 2014, whereas the import of energy reached 0.4 TWh, compared to 0.5 TWh last year.
The net energy production went up by 5% year-on-year, thanks to a higher energy production from renewable sources.
The net domestic consumption increased by 2% year-on-year. The share of renewable energy rose by 3.8% in the energy mix, whereas the hydro energy stake went up by 6.7% in the first quarter of the year. The share of nuclear and thermal energy went down by 1.2%, respectively 9.2%.
