EU could apply corrections to Romania's reimbursed amounts

22 December 2011

Romania could receive less than EUR 500 billion from the European Union, amount that should be reimbursed after the end of current negotiations, said Leonard Orban, the ministry of European funding in Romania. “We are talking to the European Commission, holding very serious and tough talks. […] There is an intention to apply a supplementary correction to the amounts we have in store. Further, if no irregularities are found, this extra will also be reimbursed," said Orban (in picture).

The amount that should be reimbursed stays between EUR 400 and 500 billion, but the exact figure will be announced at the end of negotiations, sometimes this week.
