Romania has received this year over EUR 460 million in funding from the European Commission, as the EU funds absorption rate exceeded 53% at the end of February 2015.

On February 27, the EU reimbursed Romania about EUR 303 million within the Sectoral Operational Programme Transport and the Regional Operational Programme.

European Funds Minister Eugen Teodorovici said that Romania will reach a 80% absorption rate by the end of this year.

“It’s a crucial year because it’s the last one when we can attract the funds allocated for the programming period 2007-2013.”
