EU funds for IT companies in Romania delayed again

30 September 2015

Romanian companies in the IT&C sector will have to wait another month before they can submit projects to get EU funds through the new Operational Programme Competitiveness 2014-2020. The program will be open for applications starting November 2 instead of October 1.

The announcement was made by Romania’s Ministry of Information Society, which is an intermediate body for this line of funding, whereas the main management authority is the European Funds Ministry, reports Startupcafe.ro. The term has been delayed twice. It was first set on August 17, later moved on October 1, and now has been again postponed on November 2.

Representatives of the European Funds Ministry (MFE) said they didn’t know about the Information Society Ministry’s decision to postpone the term, although MFE is the management authority.

IT&C companies can receive up to EUR 732,000 through this financing line. The total budget for these projects amounts to EUR 50 million.
