Eugen Serbanescu, 44, will be the new general manager of Alcatel-Lucent Romania as of April 1, 2014.

From this position, Serbanescu will assume responsibility for the administration and management of the company's current operations in Romania, and for the strategic and commercial direction the company will have in Romania, reports local Wall-street.ro.

He has 18 years experience in the telecommunications sector and previously worked for Info Vista, Tekelec and Nortel Networks.

Alcatel-Lucent has been active on the Romanian market since 1991. In 2012, the company reported a turnover of RON 255 million (some EUR 57 million), down from the year before.
