Bulgaria and Romania are well prepared to join the Schengen Area, according to Donald Tusk, the President of the European Council, according to local Mediafax.

“I’ve been a great supporter of Bulgaria and Romania in this matter. The situation is not easy, you know that some colleagues have concerns or are skeptical, but I’m sure we’ll find a solution,” he said, cited by Novitine.com.

“Maybe not tomorrow, but possibly at the next meeting of the European Council in March,” Tusk added.

Romania could surpass Bulgaria for Schengen accession.
