Eurostat: Romania records EU’s highest industrial production growth in June
Romania recorded the European Union’s highest year-on-year increase in industrial production in June, of 9.6 percent, followed by Poland - up 5.3 percent and Estonia - up 4.7 percent, according to the recent data provided by EU’s statistics office Eurostat.
The largest decreases were recorded in Finland, where the industrial production fell by 5.9 percent, Bulgaria - down 4.4 percent, and the Czech Republic - down 3 percent.
In the euro area, the industrial production increased by 0.3 percent in June this year compared to the same month in 2012, while in the EU27 the increase was 0.4 percent.
Compared to May 2013, the highest increases were recorded in Ireland - where the industrial production went up 8.7 percent in June, followed by Romania - up 5.7 percent, and Poland - up 3.1 percent, while the Netherlands, Portugal and France recorded the largest decreases.
The industrial production in the euro area went up 0.7 percent in June 2013 over the previous month, while in the EU27 the increase was 0.9 percent.
