Expropriations approved for Bucharest airport metro line

Romania’s Government approved yesterday the start for the expropriation procedure for buildings on the future Metro 6 line between Mai 1 and Otopeni, at the main Bucharest airport.

This is a necessary stage before proceeding with the actual construction.

The Government allocated around RON 62.8 million (EUR 13.7 million) for the expropriations from the state budget, via the Transport Ministry.

The buildings to be expropriated are located in Bucharest’s District 1 and in the town of Otopeni. In total, there are 42 houses on some 39,160 sqm.
