Fast-food chains, largest advertising spenders in Romanian HORECA sector

Romanian companies in the hotels, restaurants and catering (HORECA) sector spent more than EUR 29.4 million for advertising in media, in rate-card prices, in the first half of 2014, according to a report by local monitoring company mediaTRUST, quoted by Agerpres.
There were 26,447 commercials for companies in the HORECA sector in the first six months of the year, with fast-food companies leading the ranking.
Fast-food chain McDonald’s had 13,263 commercials, which is half of the total number, with an estimated rate-card of some EUR 16.2 million.
Second comes fast-food chain KFC, with almost 5,000 commercials and EUR 7.67 million spent. Pizza restaurant chain Pizza Hut, spent some EUR 3.63 million, in rate-card terms, for 2.767 commercials.
