FDI reaches EUR 754 mln in first quarter in Romania
Foreign direct investments to Romania reached EUR 754 million in the first quarter of the year, down almost two times on the same quarter of 2009, according to data from the Romanian Central Bank (BNR). The foreign investments have covered around half of the current account deficit. Most of the foreign investments during this period were increase in share capital, around EUR 650 million, the rest being loans within the group. FDI in 2009 in Romania dropped to EUR 4.89 billion, half of the 2008 value.
