Switzerland pays for feasibility study for metro line in Bucharest
Bucharest metro operator Metrorex signed yesterday a contract with the association of Metroul SA - Amberg Engineering AG for design and consultancy services related to the feasibility study for the construction of the Metro line 4 connecting Gara Progresu to Lac Straulesti, the Gara Progresul-Gara de Nord segment.
The program is financed via the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Program aimed at reducing the economic and social disparities within the enlarged European Union, reports local Agerpres.
The feasibility study’s total budget amounts to CHF 11.9 million (EUR 10.3 million), CHF 8.5 million (EUR 7.4 million) of which represents non-reimbursable Swiss contribution. The contract for the design and consultancy services is worth RON 19.71 million (EUR 4.3 million), without VAT.
The future stations on the Gara Progresul-Gara de Nord segment will include Gara de Nord, Palatul Parlamentului, Piata Regina Maria, Viilor and Gara Progresu.
