Pixar director to attend animation film festival Anim'est in Romania
The International Film Festival Anim’est 2012, which will be held between October 5 and 14 in Bucharest, at Cinema Patria, Cinema Studio and Control Club, will bring together 312 short films, 23 feature length films, as well as celebrities such as Daniel McCoy from Pixar studios (in picture) and special events.
In addition to the competitive sections, each year the festival presents a collection of animations (feature films and shorts) awarded by festivals around the world. Previously called the Mosaic, the section has a new name this year: Animash. Festival goers can vote for one of nine feature films and 34 short films in the section and the winner will receive the Audience Award, offered by Sony.
One of Animash features “ParaNorman”, will officially open the festival on October 5, at 19.00, at Cinema Patria. It will also be the film's Romanian premier.
For the first time in Romania, representatives of the famous animation studio Pixar will give film goers a lesson in directing and producing animated films. Daniel McCoy, technical director for animation blockbusters "Up," "Ratatouille" and "Finding Nemo" comes to Patria, on October 11 at 19.00.
A performance by the Dutch artist Sonja van Hamel will close the festival. Her show will combine animation and live music and will take place after the Anim'est awards gala, scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 19.00, at Cinema Patria.
Anim’est Festival, member of the pan-European Cartoon network , is organized by the Este 'n’est Association with the support of the National Center of Cinema, Media Programme of the European Union and Ogilvy.
