Finnish brand Honka enters Romanian market with prefab wooden houses
Finnish log frame wooden house producer Honka will enter the Romanian market this month via importer Finn Land Business, which will sell its ready-made houses on the local market. A Honka house has already been sold and assembled in Azuga, while a second will be raised in the Neptun seaside resort.
The cheapest house in the range costs EUR 40,000, covers 80 sqm and the kit includes windows and bathroom and kitchen appliances. This concept is still a novelty in Romania, but, according to Finn Land Business, there is demand for such houses in the country. Clients order houses from a catalog and they receive the whole package, which takes three weeks to assemble.
Honka log houses are designed and manufactured in Finland and made from wood sourced from Finnish forests. Its main markets outside of Finland are Japan and many European countries, particularly Germany and France. Honka, set up in 1958, has sold over 80,000 houses, while its annual turnover was EUR 58 million in 2010.
