First seaside weekend of the year: 20,000 expected in Mamaia on May 1, most of them to do seaside clubbing
Around 20,000 tourists are expected in Romania’s ‘crown jewel’ seaside resort of Mamaia during the May 1 mini-break, with a peak on the night of May 1, when as many as 15,000 people should join the clubs in northern part of the resort.
Overall, more than 30,000 tourists are awaited on the seaside on this longer weekend, which is traditionally in Romania the kickoff event for the seaside season for the year. However, many resorts are still undergoing repair and construction work.
The authorities in Mamaia would need a deadline extension until June 15 in order to finish all infrastructure work, including paving the promenade area.
