Flanco’s sales reach six times normal in first hour of Black Week sale in Romania
Sales were six times higher than normal in the first hour of Romanian appliances and IT retailer Flanco's Black Week campaign, which started today (March 22 ) which will end on March 27, 2012. Best sellers were refrigerators, LCD TVs, and notebooks, according to the company.
“We maintain our forecast of RON 35 million (EUR 8 million) sales by the end of the campaign,” said Violeta Luca, Marketing Manager Flanco.
The retailer is giving discounts of up to 50 percent in this period, on over 2,000 products. Also, all products in the Flanco network that are not part of the campaign will be discounted between 3 and 10 percent. Flanco expects some 450,000 visitors during the sale.
The retailer reported sales of EUR 6 million from last year’s Black Friday sales campaign.
Flanco owns 77 stores in Romania. Earlier in February, Flanco announced a planned new retail concept, and is hiring 100 new employees as a result. Flanco is majority owned by Asesoft Web, owned by Iulian Stanciu and Sebastian Ghita. Asesoft bought the retailer in 2010, when it was on the brink of bankruptcy. The retailer became insolvent after accumulating debts to several banks.
