Coronavirus pandemic: Flights from Romania to Austria suspended starting July 16
The regular direct flights from several states, including Romania, to Austria, will be suspended beginning July 16, following a decision of the Austrian authorities, Romania’s Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) announced. The flights are suspended until July 31.
Following the decision, local air carrier Tarom announced it would suspend all of its flights to and from Austria between July 16 and July 31. Tickets can be rescheduled for future dates, without additional fees, or reimbursed, the airline said.
Some types of flights are exempt from these restrictions: those considered to be in the interest of Austria, those carrying goods (cargo), care workers or seasonal workers in agriculture, and special repatriation charters, the company said.
At the same time, the Sibiu International Airport announced that Austrian Airlines was suspending the Sibiu-Vienna flights between July 16 and July 31, Digi24.ro reported. Passengers need to contact the airline for further information regarding the tickets.
