Romanian tops Forbes’ list of the most powerful sports agents in the world

28 September 2017

Romanian Constantin Dumitrascu, the owner of Mondial Sports Management, tops the 2017 list of the world’s most powerful sports agents in the world, drawn up by Forbes.

The Romanian, who currently lives in Germany, shares the top spot with baseball agent Scott Boras.

While Boras negotiated player contracts of some USD 1.9 billion, getting slightly over USD 108 million in commissions, the Romanian soccer agent Constantin Dumitrascu has negotiated around USD 1.1 billion in contracts, netting more than USD 107 million in commissions.

Some of Dumitrascu’s clients include Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho, Juventus winger Douglas Costa and Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kanté.

“Amazingly, none of his clients have a nine-figure contract. But more than 50 of them are estimated to make more than USD 10 million a year, helping his Mondial Sports Management secure the No. 7 spot on Forbes' 2017 list of The World’s Most Valuable Sports Agencies,” reports Forbes.

The top ten of the most powerful sports agents globally continues with soccer agent Jorge Mendes, baseball agents Sam & Seth Levinson and Casey Close, basketball agent Jeff Schwartz, soccer agent Jonathan Barnett, baseball agent Greg Genske, hockey agent Pat Brisson, and soccer agent Mino Raiola.
