Ford Romania management and unions fail to agree on labor contract

Car producer Ford Romania announced yesterday that it had been discussing with the unions for several months now the new collective labor agreement.

However, the management representatives and the unions have failed to reach an agreement.

The management is asking for key changes that would increase the factory’s competitiveness and efficiency. Unions argue that the changes suggested by the management would lead to a decrease of up to 10% in the employees’ salaries and would remove the bonuses, reports local Mediafax.

According to company representatives, the factory in Craiova has attracted investment of over EUR 1 billion so far in high-end technology.
