Ford to send 2,500 employees in Romania into technical unemployment in October
Car maker Ford will send around 2,500 employees of its factory in Romania into technical unemployment for 13 days in October.
The employees work for the vehicle production division, which produces the B-Max model.
The new announcement came after the same division recently entered technical unemployment set to last for a week.
The employees will get 80 percent of their salaries during the period, which aims to slow production to match demand.
Work will continue unaltered for 1,000 employees in the engines division, who work in two shifts and deliver about 1,000 engines a day.
Ford's car factory in Craiova currently manufactures 365 cars a day.
