Ford to temporarily halt again B-Max production in Romania this spring
Carmaker Ford will halt the production of B-Max cars at its plant in Craiova, Romania, for several days in March and April. The measure aims to adjust the production to match demand on the market.
“Ford Romania continues to adjust the production volume based on the market demand and will stop the activity in the Vehicle Operation department for five days in March and three days in April. For the Engines Manufacturing sector we don’t anticipate days without production in the following period,” according to an announcement of Ford Romania, quoted by local online publication 0-100.ro.
The car maker manufactures 370 B-Max cars a day and around 1,000 engines in its Craiova factory.
In November last year, Ford was estimating that 6,000 cars sold in Romania by the end of the year, including commercial vehicles, down from the 2012 level, when it sold 6,800 units.
