Foreign direct investments plunge by 25% in 11 months of 2010
Foreign direct investments to Romania dropped by 25.6 percent in the first 11 months of 2010 in Romania, to EUR 2.27 billion and they managed to cover only about half of the account deficit, according to data from the Romanian Central Bank.
Most of the foreign investments were participation in capital – EUR 1.43 billion, while EUR 850 million were loans from the mother company of the local subsidiary. Last year, FDI went down by 48.4 percent on 2008, reaching EUR 4.89 billion.
