Foreign retailers invest EUR 86 mln in Romania in four months
Foreign retailers made capital infusions of EUR 85.9 million in the first four months of the year, up 63% year-on-year, according to data from the Trade Registry’s Office - ONRC.
French retailer Auchan made the largest investment of EUR 30.69 million in February, followed by German group Lidl Discount, which increased its share capital by EUR 30.5 million in February, reports local Economica.net.
The Greek toy retailer Jumbo invested EUR 20.19 million, whereas the British retailer Marks & Spencer Marinopoulos injected EUR 4.5 million.
Auchan inaugurated the largest shopping center in Transylvania in March, the Coresi mall in Brasov, following a EUR 60 million investment, whereas Lidl and Jumbo plan to open new stores in Romania.
