Former E.ON Romania VP becomes head of board for Romanian electricity producer Hidroelectrica
The former deputy director of E.ON Romania, George Cristodorescu has been named head of the supervising council of Romanian energy producer Hidroelectrica.
Cristodorescu, who is a German citizen of Romanian origin and who currently lives in Romania, served as deputy director for E.On Romania until September this year.
The shareholders of Hidroelectrica recently named five new members of the board and re-elected two. The new members are Victor Cionga, former general manager of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, Adrian Rusu, director with Transelectrica, the head of the board Cristodorescu, Mihaela Preda from the Privatization division within the Energy Department, and Gheorghe Ştirbu, general manager of pharma company Egis Romania. Oana Truţă and Adrian Groşan were re-elected.
Cristodorescu holds a degree in economy and business management from the Worm University in Germany. By the age of fourteen his family immigrated to Germany, the native country of his mother and grandparents
Hidroelectrica's supervising council names the managers and approves the company's revenues and expenses budget. The producer is majority owned by the state with 80.5 percent of the shares, while Fondul Proprietatea investment fund owns the rest of 19.95 percent.
