Former economic director of Fondul Proprietatea joins Romanian electricity producer Nuclearelectrica's management
Romania’s electricity producer Nuclearelectrica has appointed economist Mihai Darie, 37, a former economic director of Fondul Proprietatea investment fund, as its new financial manager, starting February 1, 2014, the company has announced.
Darie graduated the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest and holds an Executive Master of Bussiness Administration (EMBA). He is also member of ACCA-UK and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
The Romanian economist has 14 years experience in finance, having held several management positions in both private and public companies.
According to his CV, between May 2008 and December 2009, Mihai Darie was the economic director and member of the board within Fondul Proprietatea, which holds about 10 percent in Nuclearelectrica.
In his new position, Darie joins the Nuclearelectrrica GM Daniela Lulache, whom he used to work with at Fondul Proprietatea, where she was a GM between 2006 and 2009.
Darie held several other positions within Romania’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Raiffeisen Bank and the National Company Administration of Navigable Canals.
Nuclearelectrica recorded a turnover of some EUR 323 million (RON 1.42 billion) in the first nine months of 2013, up 19 percent year-on-year, and a net profit of EUR 75 million (RON 331 million), from loss in the same period of 2012.
The Romanian state is the major shareholder of the company.
