Former manager of Bucharest public transport company, indicted
Romania’s anti-corruption prosecutors recently indicted Viorel Popescu, the former general manager of Bucharest’s public transport company RATB for abuse of power and conflict of interest in illegally granting a legal assistance contract which prejudiced the company by EUR 820,000 in 2011 and 2012.
The Prime Minister’s control task force notified prosecutors from the National Anti-corruption Directorate about this case. Prosecutors also seized some of his assets to recover the damage.
