Former Romanian MP sent to court after hiring her daughter while in office
A former Romanian Member of the Parliament was sent to court for conflict of interests, after she hired her daughter at her MP office between 2009 and 2012.
Luminiţa Iordache, a former MP from the Social Democratic Party PSD, and then from the National Union for Romania's Progress UNPR, hired her daughter as a referee at her MP office. Her daughter thus earned around EUR 4,100 during this period, which was paid from the state budget.
The National Integrity Agency asked the prosecutors to check this conflict of interest in November 2013. The investigation was recently finalized and the case was sent to court.
