Former Romanian State Secretary, accused of organizing a criminal group
Romanian anticorruption prosecutors held on May 26 Marius Constantin Fecioru, former State Secretary in the Ministry for Information Society.
He is charged with instigating to abuse of office, influence peddling and organizing a criminal group in a corruption file where former Romanian Post employees are also investigated, according to the National Anticorruption Directorate DNA, reports local Mediafax. The prosecutors asked for his 24-hour preventive arrest.
Mioara Pribescu, former economic director within the Romanian Post, is accused in the same file as Constantin, and was also held for questioning. The damage amounts to EUR 300,000, according to DNA.
