Founder Eugen Voicu takes back control of Aviva Investors, plans re-brading, strategy change
Eugen Voicu, founder of Aviva Investors, formerly named Certinvest, has redeemed the entire share package in the company from UK insurer Aviva, the majority shareholder. The company will be re-branded from November, when the deal will be finalized. The company manages EUR 17.7 million of assets.
Eugen Voicu has decided to shift strategy to cater more to the needs of the wealthy local families, rather than looking at the wider retail market. According to Eugen Voicu, the recent move was due to the lack of focus from the UK company for the Romanian subsidiary.
Voicu and investment fund RAEF sold their participations in Certinvest in 2007, when the owners were looking for a strategic partner.
