Four Romanians go to jail in France after stealing credit card from French Interior Minister's mother
Four Romanians were recently sentenced to jail for having stolen and used the credit card of the French Interior Minister Manuel Valls' mother. The minister's mother was shopping in a Paris store in May when two of the four Romanians watched her while she was entering her PIN number, while the other two later on stole her credit card from her bag.
One of the four thieves, the 24-year old Gabi-Ionel Petcu was sentenced to 15 months in prison. He had been convicted for theft six times before. His three accomplices were sentenced to one year in jail each.
The four had the bad luck to steal, without knowing it, from the mother of head of the French Police, writes Le Parisien. The Interior Minister also runs the Police in the country. The Romanians withdrew EUR 3,000 from Mrs. Vells' credit card and used it to rent bikes at a bike center, which tiped off the bank and the Police.
The four Romanians – two couples- were arrested later on, after pulling a similar move on a Dutch woman in a shop in Paris.
