French designer Philippe Guilet has created a collection inspired by Romania's ancient traditions and aims at presenting a beautiful Romania abroad. The collection has recently premiered in Bucharest and will be presented in Paris in 2012.

Interviewed by Associated Press, Guilet, who is based in Romania, said his creation is a passport for Romania. The French designer, a former research director for Jean-Paul Gaultier, has also worked with Karl Lagerfeld in the past.

His collection, called 'Prejudice', premiered at the French embassy in Bucharest last week.  Guilet  shared the stage with other designers in a show meant to celebrate the Romanian culture.

For this collection, the French designer has worked with several craftsmen and women from Romania, including Virginia Linul, a Romanian who creates traditional clothing pieces. His project in Romania is called 100%RO.
