French Film Festival in Bucharest celebrates May 1968 events

05 April 2018

This year’s edition of the French Film Festival will take place in spring, instead of fall, between April 24 and May 2. The festival will open with the screening of the fantastic comedy Madame Hyde by Serge Bozon.

The event will mark the 50-year anniversary of the May 1968 events in France with a special section, where the feature films and documentaries of the period will be screened.

The competition section dedicated to young directors will present six films, representative for the new French cinema. The directors of the films will attend the festival to present their productions.

For the fifth year in a row, the festival organizes a section in partnership with the French film magazine Cahiers du cinéma. The films screened in this section will focus on the personality of the actor, on how actors collaborate and explain the interpretation process.

The Panorama section will showcase the best contemporary French films, both those critically acclaimed and those liked by the public.

The films are screened at the Elvire Popesco cinema. Tickets for the event go on sale on April 10 at eventbook.ro. Further details here.
