French Institute's Elvira Popescu cinema in Bucharest opens after six-month renovation

The Elvira Popescu cinema within the French Institute in Bucharest will reopen after six months of renovation, on February 10, with the screening of the film "Persian Love", the first live action film of director Marjane Satrapi.

Between  February 10 and 13, the cinema will have a special program which includes screenings of two French movies: ”Mon Pire Cauchemar”, with Isabelle Huppert, and "Intouchables" that is currently leading the box office in France and the second edition of the French short films Night.

Opened in 1974, the Elvira Popescu cinema is one of the few historic movie theaters still operating in Bucharest. The cinema is a member of Europa Cinemas network and it is managed by the French Institute in Bucharest.
