UPDATE: Fresenius NephroCare adds EUR 3 mln dialysis center in Suceava

Dialysis center operator Fresenius NephroCare has opened a new center in Suceava, following an investment of EUR 3 million, the company has announced. The new center, which employs a staff of 60, has a treatment capacity for 260 patients. The company is planning to continue expansion in Romania this year, with an eye on potential acquisitions too, according to Alexandru Ciolan, head of the company in Romania.

“The state budget for this year is the same as last year, of around EUR 494 million, while the number of patients is growing by 8 percent each year,” said Ciolan. Fresenius NephroCare Romania is planing to invest RON 10.7 million this year (around EUR 2.6 million), after putting EUR 3.5 million in investments so far.

There are 113 dialysis centers in Romania, out of which 37 new centers opened last year. Fresenius NephroCare Romania runs 12 dialysis centers in Romania.

Fresenius is a global health care company with products and services for dialysis, the hospital and the medical care of patients at home.

UPDATE: The company expects to reach a turnover of RON 160 million (around EUR 39 million) this year in Romania, which would be up 57 percent on last year. It also plans to add 200 employees this year.
