FrieslandCampina relocates production and packaging units to plant in Baciu, Romania
Dairy maker FrieslandCampina Romania will relocate its cheese production in Carei and the cheese packaging unit in Targu Mures to the plant in Baciu, Cluj county, by January 2015.
The company made the decision because of tough market conditions, particularly the lack of consumer spending, according to FrieslandCampina. By relocating its production facility, the company hopes to improve efficiency and performance, which will enable FrieslandCampina to continue to invest in the Napolact brand and in technology.
Around 130 people are currently working at the plant in Carei. They will receive full company support under the terms of the collective labor agreement, including a social plan and assistance in finding future career opportunities.
